Deprescribing #116, Lisa Hom Breathwork
Lisa is a breathwork facilitator, Reiki practitioner, yoga teacher, holds a PhD in Biology and is completing her somatic therapy practitioner training in November. Her background in science gives her a unique lens on breathwork and somatic healing, blending an understanding of physiology with a deep respect for lived, embodied experience.
Breathwork was Lisa's first stepping stone into the somatic world. It showed her that we can understand stress, emotion, and patterns intellectually, while still having an entirely different experience in the body. That realization led her into deeper study of somatic therapy and body-based approaches to healing.
Today, through Progression Flow Lab, Lisa helps people explore the relationship between breath, sensation, movement, emotion, and nervous system state. Her work is grounded, experiential, and science-informed, with a particular interest in the physiological effects of breathwork and the ways body-based practices can support greater awareness, resilience, and connection to self.
At the heart of her work is a simple idea: understanding alone is not enough; it is through experiencing that the we create meaning beyond words.
